From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Monday, Oct. 7, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to Æ»¹ûÒùÔº students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.

Information for Patients

The Student Dental Clinic for Pediatric Dentistry at the Montreal Children’s Hospital provides dental care free of charge for children under 10, who are not covered by medicare (RAMQ). The clinic treats mostly refugee and new immigrant children who do not yet have access to dental care due to financial constraints and lack of insurance. All care is provided by dental students in their last year of training supervised by Montreal Children's Hospital Staff Dentists.

The clinic is entirely free of charge for patients and is run through philanthropic donations to the Faculty of Dentistry. Ìý

Complex endodontic treatment (root canals) and orthodontic treatment (braces) are not provided.

Becoming a Patient

To become a patient at the Student Dental Clinic call and leave a message with Mme Solange Veloso at 514-412-4400 ext. 23337 or 514-412-4479 and specify that you would like an appointment at the Student Dental Clinic.

Preference is given to children younger than 10 years who do not benefit from Medicare (RAMQ) coverage, but children up to the age of 12 may receive treatment if space is available. Many refugees and new immigrants benefit from the services offered. Children with special needs due to medical or behavioral issues may be referred to the regular hospital clinic.

Cancellation Policy

It is the patient’s responsibility to keep scheduled appointments. If appointments are cancelled with 24 hours’ notice, no fee is charged to that patient. A $40 fee will be charged for last minute cancellations and patients that do not come to their appointment.

The clinic is open during the academic year, from September until April.
