Welcome to CINE

The Centre for Indigenous Peoples' Nutrition and Environment (CINE), is an independent, multi-disciplinary research and education centre created by First Nation, Inuit, and Metis organizations to address their own concerns and priorities about their traditional food systems.

The logo endeavors to capture the focus of CINE in Indigenous Peoples’ food systems with animals and plants present in the sky, the land, and the waters. CINE is grounded in the four directions of the geographical world and in the four pillars of health (physical, emotional, mental and spiritual) in a holistic environment of food and health provisioning.

The logo was created by Kim Delormier, a Kanien'kehá:ka (Mohawk) artist who has been practicing graphic design and illustration since graduating from Dawson College. She has been an artist her whole life, delving into other creative fields such as sewing, painting, beadwork, and landscaping. Her love of nature and animals is apparent in her artwork and her life
