The Department of Philosophy is inviting applications for a course lecturer position to teach in Fall 2024. When applying, please include your Cover Letter and Curriculum Vitae and, if applicable, a copy of your Study/Work Permit. A brief course outline is optional.
Teaching Qualification Requirements:
- Applicants must have completed a PhD degree or be enrolled in a doctoral program in Philosophy;
- Applicants must provide evidence of highly effective teaching ability as a result of having successfully taught or worked as a teaching assistant in a similar course;
- Applicants must have research specialization or competence into some of the major problems of philosophy. This may be demonstrated in one of the following ways: (i) refereed publications and/or conference presentations in the field; (ii) thesis level research on one or more topics in the field; (iii) prior experience successfully teaching this or a closely related course in the field, or (iv) minimally, at least two graduate-level courses on topics in the field.
PHIL 242-001 Introduction to Feminist Theory (CAP 140)
An introduction to feminist theory as political theory. Emphasis is placed on the plurality of analyses and proposals that constitute contemporary feminist thought. Some of the following are considered: liberal feminism, marxist and socialist feminism, radical feminism, postmodern feminism, francophone feminism, and the contributions to feminist theory by women of colour and lesbians.
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 09:35 am-10:25 am, August 28, 2024 鈥� December 4, 2024. Location: ENGTR 0100.

Salary: $9,625 per course.
