The mission of the Office of the Dean of Students is to enhance, improve and promote students’ academic and personal success.

We oversee student rights and responsibilities, academic integrity, academic advising, the student disciplinary process, and student recognition.
Our job is to listen, learn, advise, and advocate for your best Æ»¹ûÒùÔº experience.

We work collaboratively with students, for students, using the principles of listening, guiding, supporting, and facilitating. We are open, non-judgmental, committed to equity and inclusion, and sustainability. We will address all issues brought to our attention – big or small.

We refer students to support services and facilitate solutions to problems, often at the junction of academic and non-academic issues. We help our campus partners support students in difficulty, including crisis management.

Ìý

We uphold student rights and responsibilities, including the Code of Student Conduct and Disciplinary Procedures, and the Charter of Students’ Rights. We work on policy development as related to students, and other projects including non-academic programming for students living in Residence Halls, and facilitating applications to some external awards. Our office oversees Æ»¹ûÒùԺ’s Office of Sexual Violence Response, Support & Education, and coordinates and co-chairs the Indigenous Affairs Work Group.

Æ»¹ûÒùÔº is on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous Peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg nations. Æ»¹ûÒùÔº honours, recognizes and respects these nations as the traditional stewards of the lands and waters on which we are located.
